First world war horses linoprint
Wise Horse - Arras 1917
enlarge image

This is an underpainted linoprint called 'Wise Horse - Arras 1917'.
I created it in response to a poem written during the Great War by E Burden. The poem is called 'A Sequel to Cavalry Charger', and this is the verse it illustrates:

'I once was a farmer's plough horse,
I worked hard, but peacefully then;
Sometimes, when the shells shriek their loud,
I wish myself back again.'

Original underpainted linoprint.
Print size: 30x30cm
Edition size: 30
Signed N. Vowls
Price: 95.00
